I thought he was referring to the yellow star 1930-40’s German Jews had to wear to show publicly “who” or “what” they were, lest the “pure” others inadvertently have personal or business dealings with them. More perverse than the “Irish need not apply.” And, that post had a perfect touch of irony.
I guess I’m one who can’t understand those who seem to do nothing on FR except attack Catholics. Why the obsession? Does anyone seriously think they’re enlightening anyone? Someone like you is suddenly going to “See the(ir) LIght?” Major waste of bandwidth. At best it’s tiresome.
When there is no defense ...attack the person...so it becomes about me not the pagan superstitious belief that wearing a brown piece of cloth makes you holy and pleasing to God and is a “get out go jail free card” thanks to Mary
“Would you say the same thing if people were facing Mecca five times a day to “improve their lives”?? “
Yes.
If someone is sincerely trying to be a better and holier person, I think that is good.
If however, they rigidly adhered to a dogma that set them to violence or hatred, or even unkindness, against others; I would think that to be a bad practice.
Many people are born into muslim families or societies through no fault of their own, and yet are moved spiritually toward God. Muhammed co-opted many of the religious best practices of his day from Christianity, Judaism and the local Pagan practices. Those practices can be spiritually fruitful. Regular prayer can change people for the better.
I think it is clear that Muhammed himself was a false prophet, who used religion to assume dictatorial power, and indulge his petty desires for power, sex and wealth. But prayer itself is still a good practice, it the intent is pure.
Speaking of keeping people ignorant of history, have the Lutherans started doing Sunday readings of “On the Jews and Their Lies” yet?
See liberal dimocrats do it all the time. I think it comes out of Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.
And when understanding eludes you altogether, misrepresent the opponents beliefs in the most absurd manner possible.
I think the FR Protestant caucus has a digital copy on standby to reference before posting comments.
Beats me.
While we're discussing people who are ignorant of history, let's go back a hundred years further, to a day when anger against the Jews was more than just words. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar:
In Salzburg, which was non-secular and ruled by a Catholic Prince-Archbishop not overly pleased about non-Catholic residents of any kind, Jews were expelled in 1492 and prevented from permanent settlement until the 19th century. Emperor Maximilian I banned Jews from Styria and Carinthia on request of local guilds in 1496 and relocated to the Eastern edge of the Empire in Zistersdorf near Eisenstadt. From 1551, Jews had to wear a yellow spot on their clothing every time they entered market towns or cities.
Beats me. Although my wife is Mary and she’s saved me a bunch of times.
How do you know? Were you there? If you don’t haves pictures, it never happened....or did it?
I’d consider another Catholic an opponent if were debating something, too. It’s a common word.
I think you misunderstand the intent of my “who are you.”
I posted no question to you, neither do I appreciate you intruding to set terms of how or even if someone else chooses to answer a question I pose to them.
