She gets perpetual virginity. She gets to be glorified before anyone else. She gets protected from original sin. She gets appointed Mother of the Church and Queen of Heaven. Why? Just because He loves her, and that is reason enough.

Therefore, since He did not do that for the rest of us, then God doesn't love the rest of us.

Some really spread it on don’t they...WoW! Missing the Master entirely. Not one mention of Jesus.

I'm glad I read ahead this time!

Excellent point. His love for all believers is sufficient reason for Him to give us all the blessed gifts He gives us.  Not because we earn them through our poor deeds.  But just because He loves us.  Why apply one version of God to Mary and a different version for the rank and file believer?  There is one God, and He loves all His children without partiality.  As the Scriptures say, He is no respecter of persons, as so many earthy folks are.

One more thought.  I am confident Mary, being a good Jewess, would have been horrified to be called the Queen of Heaven.  I am sure she would have considered it a blasphemy against the One True God, "Hear o Israel, The Lord Your God, the Lord is One!"  But a Queen is a co-regent, not a princesss or a noble, but the wife of the King, or the daughter of a deceased King, in which case to claim the title Queen of Heaven she must necessarily be claiming that she is

1) the wife of God (which would work for Mormons and other polytheists but not for a Jewess monotheist), or else

2) she is the daughter of a deceased King, in which case she is saying God is dead, which would be equally blasphemous.

I can't imagine any way at all the original, godly Mary, as a good Jewess, would ever have put up with that, not even for even a split second.  Like Paul when he threw off the poisonous snake and the islanders started worshiping him as a deity, she would be telling people today, no, stop it, I'm just one of you; worship only God.  Sad to see how her true piety is so abused by those who think they make her great. Ironic in the extreme.

Peace,

SR
