Where did Paul get the teaching ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’, if not from tradition handed down to him?

Hey BTW Neither Democrats or Republicans politicians believe that today so maybe there is some doubt about it.

From the same place he got ALL of the revealed teachings of Jesus - Jesus himself. Here is the verse in context - note...Paul even says Jesus said it - not what was handed down to him by "tradition":

"You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my own needs and to the men who were with me. "In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" (Acts 20:34,35)
