Most of the noise in our rural area is from military choppers of all kinds, as we are in the flight path for their drills (JBLM) a couple times per week. Doesn't bother me, I like seeing a big ole Chinook going over but sometimes I feel like Ray Liotta's character in Goodfellas.
We can also hear artillery practice from the same base about 50 miles away as the crow flies.
