BREAKING: Pope takes major step toward formal heresy

"I feel like saying something that may sound controversial or even heretical. But there is someone who knows that despite our differences we are one. It is he who is persecuting us. It is he that is persecuting Christians today; he who is anointing us with the blood of martyrdom, knows that Christians are disciples of Christ. That we are one, that we are brothers! He doesn't care if they are Evangelicals, Orthodox, Lutherans, Catholics or Apostolic. He doesn't care! They are Christians."

“Hocus Pocus” an interesting choice of words. It is a corruption of the Latin, “HOC CORPUS MEUM EST” “This is My Body...” The words of Christ used during the Consecration of the Mass.

It isn't that simple. A well-Catechised Roman Catholic would know that.

In a world where marriage is not a Sacrament, one can get a no-hassle divorce if they change their mind, and then remarry, for any reason, and simply call it irreconcilable differences.

"Just show us where Jesus or any apostle read Gods mind and decided that people were not married IN HIS EYES".

Show me where a couple approached them and asked and I'll tell you what He or they answered.

**"Geee Joseph could have gotten an annulment according to Romanist doctrine".**

Again, poor Catachesis. There is something called a "Josephite marriage" where a couple lives in continence. PS: If Joseph had wanted to let Mary go, he could have. per Matthew's Gospel,

**...you cannot know every single little thing about a person. they may not even be aware of what's in their DNA!**

Good point! The situation arises more from withholding information, than of what occurs later, as in the case of latent homosexuality. It's a matter of full disclosure of known information before marriage, so that both parties can make a decision with their eyes wide open.

**You are the first pope. You are head over all the others**

The word "Pope" comes from the Italian word, "Papa"so chances are, you aren't going to find that in a Bible. Does that mean Peter was not intended to be head of the Apostles? To the non-Catholics here, yes.

31And the Lord said: Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and thou, being once converted, confirm thy brethren.-- Luke, 22.

Of course, once again, the non-Catholics won't believe it. This is just for the proverbial record.

"For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

For a committed Catholic, the "rules," "hoops to jump through", "man-made laws" etc. referred to by our non-Catholic brethren, and can be tough to follow. That's not boasting, it's fact. The yoke is easy because it is carried out of love.

Agreed. Moses and Elijah appeared with Christ during the Transfiguration. Thanks for the quote!

No-fault divorces came from protestants that didn’t want commitment.

To believe that all Christians are saved (barring true invincible ignorance) is not Catholic teaching and never was.

If you're a Christian, you're saved.

If you're not saved, you're not a Christian.

One of the biggest lies going is the one that you can be a committed follower of Christ and be saved, and still go to hell when you die.

If you go to hell when you die, you were never saved to begin with because hell is what we're saved from.

If you were saved and go to hell when you die, could someone please explain to me then, just what are or were you saved from, that you use the term?

Annulments came from Catholics who didn’t want commitments.

And a church which is willing to compromise and accommodate sin for the right price.

OK, that makes sense, and I agree with your point.

My only remark would be, and its my opinion, that the Pope was trying to say ISIS and the like will just as happily kill a Methodist as a Lutheran, as a Catholic. In that sense, we are all the same, non-Muslims.

The more formal term is Pontiff, which comes from the Latin Pontifex Maximus. It literally means the master bridge builder. In Greek, it means “high priest,” like it would to Jews.

Prior to Chrisitianity, the highest religious official was the Pontifex Maximus. Wiki has a good article on the term.

You know, the one the Apostle Paul used, the New American Standard Version. If it was good enough for Paul, it is good enough for me. 😂🇵🇭😇

As long as it is not the KJV, readers digest version, it is probably O.K.....make sure it is approved by the Catholic church to make certain that you are getting a COMPLETE UNABRIDGED EDITION!!

What else can we disagree on?

How about toe meaning of common english which my Bible is written in.

THIS IS MY BODY....means this is my body.

a man should be judged according to his works means.........watch this.........a man should be judged according to his works.....see how easy it is????

If every Biblical passage can be interpreted any way that anyone pleases.....what was the point of the Bible in the first place.....Just take a dictionary, arrange the words as you see fit.....and EUREKA!!!!!!!!! you have a bible...
