I’ve just always accepted that people who do really nice and descent things are good people and God is pleased.
My God’s not as harsh as yours :)
You’ll be lovingly caressed into Hell
The article asks about fallen man.
We see fallen man do things that are good and decent, but without the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, there are no truly good people.
We need a bit more of this. In a lot of pop theologies, God the Creator has been reduced to a bogeyman.
If you’re doing the right thing because you crave Heaven or you’re scared of Hell, you’re doing it for the wrong reasons.
You do the right thing, because it is the right thing to do, period.
Did your God send a flood that killed everyone on earth that wasn't a member of Noah's family?
Was he pleased with the people who drowned in that judgment?
Was there not a single "good person" among them?
