The statement [...], was released [...]Wednesday morning at a press conference:
As Southern Baptist Christians, we are committed to Biblical faith and ethics. As a result, this body of Believers stands on the authority of Scripture and Gods Truth as central to our lives.
What the Bible says about marriage is clear, definitive and unchanging. We affirm biblical, traditional, natural marriage as the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. The Scriptures teaching on marriage is not negotiable. We stake our lives upon the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
Consequently, we will not accept, nor adhere to, any legal redefinition of marriage issued by any political or judicial body including the United States Supreme Court. We will not recognize same-sex marriages, our churches will not host same-sex ceremonies, and we will not perform such ceremonies.
While we affirm our love for all people, including those struggling with same-sex attraction, we cannot and will not affirm the moral acceptability of homosexual behavior or any behavior that deviates from Gods design for marriage. We also believe religious freedom is at stake within this critical issue that our first duty is to love and obey God, not man.
Therefore, we strongly encourage all Southern Baptist pastors, leaders, educators, and churches to openly reject any mandated legal definition of marriage and to use their influence to affirm Gods design for life and relationships. As the nations largest non-Catholic denomination with over 16 million members, we stake our very lives and future on the Truth of Gods Word.
We also join together to support those who stand for natural marriage in the corporate world, the marketplace, education, entertainment, media and elsewhere with our prayers and influence, and resources.

And this born again Baptist Christian appreciates the unwavering (so far at least) Catholic stand for the sacred institutions of marriage and family as God established them at the beginning of human life on earth. Let's all put aside our differences in doctrine and practice long enough to unite in opposition to this devilish abomination that threatens to destroy the very foundation of America and that of any other nation that adopts it into law.
The churches I know about have always said this. I know mine does. I knew a man who went to my church years ago. He moved to another city, got up in front if his new choir, announced he was a homo, and was kicked out of choir right then. He was kicked out of the church, too. This was about 8-10 years ago.
Did any of the the congregation, or at least the pastor, try to persuade him to give up his deviant lifestyle and agree with the biblical condemnation of that abomination? If not I would hold them, especially the pastor, accountable for him continuing to indulge his homosexual perversion. We should condemn that perverse practice as sin, but I believe that we also have an obligation to both the practitioner and to God to at least attempt to persuade homosexuals to reject and discontinue that sinful practice and obey God's Word on the matter.
From what I have been told, he had no intentions of stopping his lifestyle. He kept going out of the state for some of his activity. I have wondered what happened to him. Think I will see if I can find him. I have ways!
Bkmrk.
Exactly.
I think I found him and he goes to a Catholic Church. Bless his heart.

WASHINGTONThe U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments April 28, on the constitutionality of states defining and recognizing marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
Commenting on the oral arguments before the Court, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), said, Today is a moment of great consequence. Marriage is a perennial institution, with deep roots in who we are and in our nations culture and laws. Marriage is and always will be the union between one man and one woman. This truth is inseparable from the duty to honor the God-given dignity of every human person. We pray that the justices will uphold the responsibility of states to protect the beautiful truth of marriage, which concerns the essential well-being of the nation, especially children. Children have a basic right, wherever possible, to know and be loved by their mother and father together. The Church will always defend this right and looks to people of good will to continue this debate with charity and civility.
The Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling by the end of June.

Thank you NKP Vet.
Then we’re gonna find out who is serious about rendering unto God what’s rightfully His.
I don't think I've heard, or I should say read, a better defense and/or endorsement of the sacred institution of marriage. I'm not Catholic, but I don't know of any protestant who could have made a better or more important comment on this all-important issue.
I actually believe that the future of the US as the richest and most prominent nation of the world rides on the decision that the Court hands down on this one issue. 9 men and women will decide whether or not the America that was established by God-honoring, bible believing, Christian patriots will continue to exist as a powerful and prominent nation very much longer. I don't expect a flood like the one described in the bible, however, if homosexual "marriage" is granted legal status in the real world by the court's upcoming decision where and when will the insanity stop?
9 people decided for the federally enforced legality of killing unborn people 40+ years ago. Millions and millions have since been killed. It’s actually pretty surprising that things aren’t much farther along than ‘gay marriage,’ considering.

Agreed. God is long suffering and slow to wrath.
