In the comments, from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith:

In those situations where homosexual unions have been legally recognized or have been given the legal status and rights belonging to marriage, clear and emphatic opposition is a duty. One must refrain from any kind of formal cooperation in the enactment or application of such gravely unjust laws and, as far as possible, from material cooperation on the level of their application. In this area, everyone can exercise the right to conscientious objection.

“”He probably counted the votes and realized he could get away with pretending to be conservative. Pretending is a common ploy in DC.””

No doubt this is exactly what happened. No different from the Senate and House counting the votes and deciding what votes they can use or do without. They’re all crooked as a dog’s hind leg...

These are times that try men’s souls... including showing those who take a heavenly view and those who concur with what hell wants.

True. And hell isn't eagerly anticipating the return of the Lamb.

Btw, thank you for the compliment. I see from your post history that you work in education. I do as well. I wonder how long it will be before our jobs suffer due to our beliefs.

People in education as you know are suffering now due to their
religious and politically incorrect teaching. A teacher in the Los Angeles School District supposedly was just let go for teaching Huckleberry Finn.

My wife teaches full time in a Public school and her school is very patriotic in practice. The new PC stuff has not affected her yet. I substitute teach in Public and Catholic schools. It has not affected me yet. I suppose when it does we will stick around and fight an academic guerrilla war of truth.

Hope you do well in your teaching career . Hang in there.

Are you fan of Pius V or a member?

That was addressed to Israel only.

Concur; America is a failing White Anglo Saxon Protestant experiment, where a couple of generations undid the foundation of the nation. It is closer to Babylon now than Israel. Rather than pray for mercy on America, we should pray for judgment, that the righteous not be consumed with the wicked.

He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.

Hear this word that the Lord hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying, You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
Psalms, Catholic chapter one hundred forty seven, Protestant verses nineteen to twenty,
Amos, Catholic chapter three, Protestant verses one to two,
as authorized, but not authored, by King James

The People of California PASSED A LAW limiting marriage to one man and one woman. The liberal California courts used Judicial Nullification to throw it out and create law from whole cloth. There damn well SHOULD be a law limiting marrieage to one man and won woman, because that is what 52% of California voters chose.

too late for prayer I think

Never ever to late for prayer.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I believe the last verse is especially pertinent right now.

time to stock up and fortify

Always a good time for this

As another poster on another thread noted, God would have spared S&G if ten righteous men could be found.

To all believers....are you among the righteous? Can God count you as righteous?

A couple weeks ago, I agreed to take on someone else’s adoration time slot in addition to my own today, so I was with Jesus for three straight hours today, and the interesting part about this, was that it seemed more like an hour, not three, and at the time I hadn’t even known about this decision. Yes, pray like monks until the day that we die. You are correct, Salvation, G-d love you.....

verga is right ... it is never too late for prayer.

Hopefully, you have already been praying for the US on a daily basis. Some of us were very blessed to have experienced life in the US when moral absolutes prevailed. Unfortunately, we took it for granted that such a culture would continue to flourish and prevail. History, however, demonstrates that life is like a pendulum. In our lifetimes, conservativism peaked during the Rreagan administration. Since then, the pendulum has begun to swing left. At first, it was gradual but since the election of BO, the shift has been more rapid. Pendulums are not fixed and continue to move. Consider Russia, for example.

The author of Ecclesiastes reminds us that "everything old is new again; there is nothing new under the sun." One need look no further than Genesis 18:18-33 to see how this has played out in history. More importantly, notice that Abraham challenges God's judgement of Sodom & Gomorrah, pleading (praying) for Him to spare the people.

This may be a simplistic example but an important one. It is incumbent on us to pray for our own people, asking for God's mercy on those whose hearts are moved.

Yes....the scary part is Abraham couldn't find ten righteous men.

I hope if there is a count, we may be found among the righteous.

Are you seriously suggesting that if God's people followed 2 Chronicles 7:14 in which Christians humbled themselves in prayer, sought His face, and turned from our wicked ways, that He would not answer. That that is somehow only something Israel could do??
