May the peace of Jesus Christ be upon you. You and yours. Forgive me if I have offended you. The Christ rule over all.
-— No. That is not Biblical. -—
Paul says that baptism “now saves you.” In baptism we are born again of “water and the spirit.”
It sounds like you were poorly catechized. Most of us born after 1960 were.
Spend some time at Catholic Answers. You won’t regret it.
If not now, you will eventually realize that Protestantism can’t reach a consensus on virtually any moral or theological issue.
The reason is because of Sola Scriptura, which isn’t taught in the Bible.
Christ’s Church is “the pillar and foundation of truth.” The Apostles and their successors have the power to bind and loose, meaning indisputable ecclesiastical authority. Look it up.
This is why Jesus said, “if he won’t listen to the church, treat him as a pagan or tax collector,” IOW, a non-Christian.
Thank you. And may Our Lord Jesus abundantly bless you as well.
So let me ask you this question. If the Catholic Church can excommunicate a person why can't a person excommunicate the Church? In other words, the Catholic church can take away membership from someone (they are no longer a Catholic and they are no longer able to receive the sacraments)why do you believe that a person can't resign from that same membership? That's forced bondage or for the people in Rio Lindo - SLAVERY! You're saying that a baptism that I gave no approval for as an infant enslaves me to support and believe in the Catholic church forever? Hogwash.
