Clarification to my above: royal divorce in the service of producing royal heirs, not just divorce.
If I recall, the liberal groups of the Lutherans and Presbyterians that accepted ‘gay marriage’ wouldn’t marry their own gay members until the state they happened to be in also accepted it.
