1 John 5:13
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.

Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord."

Hi Brother!! I don’t do the late night posts. I always read in the morning, and it is always “amusing” to watch how quickly the emotions take over when the oil is low or non-existent. It is a great oil gauge.

I WAS one.

And she’s right.

And she was one, too.

I know them,

I was one...born and educated in their schools ...

Like most Methodists you want to "play nice' ...

One thing about those saved by HIS GRACE ,we want to speak truth and confront heresy ...

No one is saved in baptism.. no one is saved by the church, its sacraments , law keeping, good works , and the final burn in purgatory ...False doctrine leads to hells fire..I care.. Liberal churches do not....

Yes they are.

Reminds me of the Mormon threads, where they are taught not to answer the question that is asked, but answer the question you want them to ask.

Posting actual writings from other belief systems often brings out hate towards the one posting it.

With the Mormons, I was asked “Why do you hate Mormons” and when called on it I got crickets. (Cats collecting tongues and crickets abound when Truth rears it’s convicting head.)

When questions are answered with questions meant to distract from the issue at hand, it’s pretty much a given that those that do that do not want to comment on their own beliefs. Especially when they are so far from Biblical Christianity.

Yet they continue to follow men’s teachings/traditions instead of the Savior Jesus Christ’s Word.

Houses built on sand can be changed out for those built on a good solid Godly foundation if only the Holy Spirit will be called upon for guidance.

The following is from a little essay on my profile page. It might help:

--faith, believe, and believeth-- all derive from the Greek word ‘pisteuo’. In the Greek the verbs give rise to the nouns, so ‘pisteuo’ --to faithe-- gives rise to ‘pistis’, the noun --faith. Important to the understanding of the use of ‘pistis’ is that it is at its heart an action word which, in the way written in the passage, is an ongoing action, an immediate application with continuous force, an unending application --not continuous if referred back to, but a thing instituted by God not man, then remaining in effect WHILE the ‘faither’ lives the remainder of life ‘faithing’. Faith is action based upon belief sustained by the confidence that what God promises He will do. That is why we read repeatedly that Abraham ‘believed’ God and it was counted for him righteousness.

It is the Host. Honestly, how can we have a discussion if people here can’t even comprehend properly?

Catholics call it a Host because they believe that jesus is in it

I call it a cracker because that is what it is 100% of the time

>>>>The Catholic position<<<<<

That changes with the audience ....

Q. 917. What is the Mass?

A. The Mass is the unbloody sacrifice of the body and blood of Christ.

Q. 918. Why is this Sacrifice called the Mass?

A. This Sacrifice is called the “Mass” very probably from the words “Ite Missa est,” used by the priest as he tells the people to depart when the Holy Sacrifice is ended.

Q. 919. What is a sacrifice?

A. A sacrifice is the offering of an object by a priest to God alone, and the consuming of it to acknowledge that He is the Creator and Lord of all things.

Q. 920. Is the Mass the same sacrifice as that of the Cross?

A. The Mass is the same sacrifice as that of the Cross.

Q. 921. How is the Mass the same sacrifice as that of the Cross?

A. The Mass is the same sacrifice as that of the Cross because the offering and the priest are the same — Christ our Blessed Lord; and the ends for which the sacrifice of the Mass is offered are the same as those of the sacrifice of the Cross.

You and I might not believe that, but in most cases, it's better to allow a denomination to tell us what they teach rather than have us tell them what they teach.

Ummm so you believe what Mormons tell you?? What about that Muslim next door...

The edition from which the quote is lifted is prior to 1974. The nihil obstat stamp was firmly applied to he earlier edition I have access to. It is not uncommon for the RCC hierarchy to make changes which they hope will go unnoticed. This is perhaps one of those ‘changes’. For the record, the paragraph is indefensible from the Christian perspective but apparently not unsettling to the unregenerate who are relying on an institution to bring them along into Heaven.

Exactly... Rome changes words and meanings and hopes no one notices

I think it’s all hyperbole. However, that hyperbole if taken literally is bad theology.

Is that what Methodists call Heresy ??
