Joseph Smith could be evil but it doesn't make the LDS evil.Does LDS here mean the MEMBERS or the Organization?
The latter is SURELY evil; while the members (some at least) are merely deceived.
Dang!
I'm channeling TRUMP!

Please read "Church History" by Eusibius. Please read "No One Knows My History" by Brodie
"You don't know me; you never knew my heart. No one knows my history. I cannot tell it; I shall never undertake it. I don't blame anyone for not believing my history. If I had not experienced what I have, I could not have believed it myself."
So the Mormon prophet Joseph Smith's (1805-1844) words at a funeral oration in 1844 are quoted in his biography by Fawn M. Brodie.

What most Protestants believe and teach is that by confessing that Jesus is Lord you are saved, that simply is not true. I guess that thief dying alongside Jesus sure got a surprise!

But there are things that must be done to be saved.I just LOVE it when the pot containing Mormonism and Catholicism bubbles over!
Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."
1 John 3:21-23
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.
James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

WOW! What a completely biased source. Try using a secular source that doesn’t have an axe to grind. That is what a Christian interested in the truth would do.

“Accurate church history began being written after the reformation”
But we can trust those who canonized the scriptures? I believe that preceded the Reformation.

No...the reason that book isn’t in the Holy Bible is because it was NOT Holy Spirit-inspired Scripture but a product of mere men. Men and women of God know the difference. The Roman Catholic church didn’t need to decide what writings from God they would accept or reject nor was God dependent on them three hundred years later to compile the word of God.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the life and the truth." That is the Catholic truth we believe in. Jesus added that NO one came unto the Father BUT by Him. Is that "Catholic" truth, as well, or do you believe people can be saved who don't believe in Jesus but who are good and who live according to their own consciences?

In addition:
"Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you" (Jn 6:53).

**”Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you” (Jn 6:53).**
If taken literally (as your church seems to), once gives eternal life. Any more times is either vanity, or unbelief (that it didn’t give life the previous time).
One thing is for certain; the RCC teaching of the Lord’s supper does get the adherents to come to church, with various degrees of regularity, because they are taught it is the real deal. (When I was a young, single, unsaved 20something, I used to drop a friend off just in time for the ceremony. He would slip inside, get into line, eat the wafer, and slip out, usually saying something like, “Okay, lets go meet some girls”).
The Mass is regarded as a ‘cure all’ for all sins that the partaker chooses to keep on indulging in. Going out for a sin filled evening? No problem. Just keep going to Mass. I have another long time acquaintance (62 yrs old) that still holds that attitude. And another, that goes to Mass daily, yet is proudly liberal Dem. Apparently, she thinks that since she partakes daily, nomatter what her political views are, she’s ‘good to go’.
