I believe there is a real problem with Catholicism having a higher proportion of liberals than Protestantism/evangelicalism, taken as a whole.
There are only a mini-handful [if that] of Catholics who partake in the Sacraments frequently, and actually believe what the faith teaches, who are liberals. So there are "toe-tag" Catholics, if you will, and then there are True Catholics. Jesus knows the difference; the polls, however, don't know squat.

Romanism is a dead faith ... Look at Europe.. coming here
