The Pharisees felt the same way
She was on both the Tozer threads I posted today and my only contention was that she was on them and yet apparently expected others to stay off her open threads. Which is lacking in consistency. Having two sets of standards for behavior is called hypocrisy.
I didn’t say she posted uncharitable remarks. That can be verified in reading my posts upthread.
Please be more careful to not bear false witness and attribute to me things I didn’t say.
I must have missed the commandment that said “thou shalt not be angered”.
Winning like Charlie Sheen. Oh what a feeling!
JESUS classifies sins as mortal and venial.
I.e., Jesus talks about sins that cause people to be damned, AND Jesus talks about sins that people can commit, but which do NOT cut them off from "the kingdom of Heaven."
Since JESUS taught that some sins are mortal, and some sins are venial, I will go with what Jesus taught.

I can’t even run my Android Tablet without my grandson’s help (he’s eleven), so I’m afraid it wouldn’t interest me.
Nevertheless, ALL sin leads to death.
Lesser sins are not less damning.
Hey now, I wouldn’t stoop so low as trying to sell people indulgences!
I just want to sell them an app that helps them keep track of when they need a good confessin’!
Yeah, that would be a good motivator. They could get real creative with this. Rack up too many points and you have to sit next to the guy with chronic gas during mass!
If you get it up and runnin’ I’d be interested in how you made the software connections to the Holy Spirit Who convicts us of our erring.
Got one that goes off every 5 minutes? Because that’s about how often I need to go running back to Jesus and throw myself at His feet to beg His mercy and Grace Like Paul I am chief of sinners Glory be to God He has provided a way out!
WOW, talk about misinterpreting scripture....that was it!!!!!
Perhaps she did, however, her comment in post 52, it appears that her intent was to post it as open and see what happened.
God bless you for giving her the benefit of the doubt.

As you can see from the words of JESUS, your denial of the reality of mortal and venial sin contradicts what was taught by JESUS.

What Does the Bible Have to Say?
Matt. 5:19:
Whoever then relaxes (breaks) one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Our Lord here teaches that there are least commandments a person can break and even teach others to do so yet still remain in the kingdom of heaven. That is both a good definition of venial sin and perfectly in line with paragraph 1863 of the Catechism. Then, Jesus goes on to warn us in no uncertain terms that there are other sins that will take us to hellif we do not repent, of course. For example, in Matt. 5: 22, Jesus says, whoever says You fool! shall be liable to the hell of fire. In verses 28-29, he says:
But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.
Clearly Jesus teaches there are some sins that will separate us from God for all eternity and some that will notmortal and venial sin.

They, like the protestants weren't evil, just wrong.
Could you show me where in the Bible those words are found?
Anyone who is in the kingdom of heaven is by definition already forgiven and saved so his sins are gone God demands absolute perfection anything less is sin and leads to eternal damnation UNLESS that sin is covered by the blood of Christ. There is no “safe sin” God may indeed count some sins as worse than others but even the slightest leads to damnation it would be cold comfort sitting in hell to have the satisfaction of knowing your sin that sent you there wasn’t quite as bad as the other guys
Beginning in 1517 the Catholic Church came up with a way for making money an indulgent could be bought from the Church that sent you straight to heaven.... You could buy them for your family and for those of your family who were in purgatory, and they also sent to heaven, no matter what you had done while alive..... Pope Leo X had John Tetzel sell them to rebuild St. Peter’s in the latest Renaissance style.
Today the catholic church does accept “donations” intermingled with forgiveness but is not expressly stated....rather like naming a need sufficient to prompt the donation.
FIVE minutes?!?!?!?!
Wow....
You’re GOOD.
Silly Martin Luther, how dare he question the indulgences!!!
try reading his 95 theses, and determine which ones you will argue against.
I would enjoy being schooled on the RC biblical response to item 27, which refutes the teaching that "...the soul flies out of the purgatory immediately the money clinks in the bottom of the chest."
