For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

did you notice that he pointed out murder and adultery....probably more offensive to God than swearing when you hit your thumb with a hammer.

Seems to me that men want to classify sin so as to feel that they’re not so bad after all, because gee, they don’t do the bad things that Joe over there does. They’re better than him and if he can get in, they ought to be able to as well.

It’s pretty common among people who depend on works.
