All of my family are Catholics,

I brought back a rosary for my Grandmother blessed by Pope John Paul II many years ago when I visited the Vatican,

I”ve always had proper respect for the Pope, as much as any non catholic should have.

I’ve never said a bad word about Pope John Paul II or Pope Benedict, but its my opinion this Pope may already have done great harm to those like myself willing to respect the office as one would any world leader, hes greatly diminished the role in just the short time hes been in office,

As you say, the Gospel takes a back seat to pushing the secular new world order agenda of those the book of Revelation refers to as earth dwellers.

This new encyclical Laudato Si is particularly troublesome because it has a whole lot of non-Magisterial material (secular opinions on physical and social science, economics, politics) larded into the legitimate faith-and-morals stuff.

It's not surprising that people are scratching their heads and saying "WTHeck?" It looks to some as if he's abusing the prestige of his office to push issues which are outside of his competence.

I, personally, think it should have been split into two documents. One document would be the faith-and-morals content, which is the proper material for an encyclical. The rest of it --- an "Environmentalist Manifesto" consisting of ecological-political musings--- could run in the op/ed pages of L'Osseratore Romano. The last sentences could have been,

"So, anyhoo, that's my two cents' worth. YMMV. What do the rest of you guys think? Sincerely, Sr. J. Bergoglio."
