In the Evangelical Church, we honor Mary because we understand that without her, Jesus would not have been able to walk on the earth as a human and deity. But, in order for Jesus to suffer and die on the cross for all mankind, Jesus had to be a human like us (the ones he was dying for).

Mary was a precious, virgin girl. She believed in GOD and was willing to birth Jesus, even though she did not understand what GOD was really doing.

Joseph, on the other hand, died before Jesus. That means Joseph was in Paradise (because his faith was accounted to him as Righteousness), and Joseph was able to greet Jesus when He entered into Paradise, and then Jesus led all the saints into Heaven with Him. I’ve always wondered if Joseph had any idea this event was going to happen?
