That would be dangerous to tax churches for the opinions of their shepherds. They will endorse no one anyway, but they can be heard speaking on common themes, couched in “mercy”.
Many devout, traditional Catholics continue in the works of the traditional Church, like the Little Sisters of the Poor. We see what they are being drug through under the boot of Obama. Add taxation to their threatened daily fines and they will be finished. It’s tragic and all of this persecution will have implications for all churches, not just Catholics.
We can not lose our heads, but must be gentle as a dove and wily as a serpent. Personally, the times call for a little more serpent. :)
I agree, but speaking out on issues is very different from a political endorsement i.e. telling people who is the choice of the church. I have no issues with the Catholic Church’s good works but I don’t want the Pope meddling in our elections - mostly because he’s a foreign head of state.
