But the arguments used against gay marriage (the Bible) can be used against divorce and remarriage.

Ya, so what. Perfect goverrnment will not exist until Christ comes. There will always be differing opinions on the rule man's government. Thinking that government is going to exit the marraige arena is a pipe dream. It's not going to happen.

Can step further into the muck from Polygamy, it’s called Consanguineous marriage. Which is also an illegal marriage on the books of all states - for now.
http://marriage-equality.blogspot.com/2012/08/frequently-asked-question-can-siblings.html
With gay marriage being equal and SCOTUS and other lawmakers still hung up on “two people” getting married as OK..../hugesarc.
I can see the consanguineous folks hooking their cause to the gay marriage star quicker than the poly’s.... there’s no offspring involved in genetic protection for homosexual brothers or any sisters that wish to marry....father/son, mother/daughter....is there a difference in this world anymore?
The slippery slope is here.

There are laws against underage marriage which apply not only to heterosexual marriage but also to same-sex marriage.

There are laws against pedophilia, too.

The arguments that have been used in favor of not-underage same-sex marriage can also be used in favor of not-underage polygamy.

With all of that in mind, the arguments used against gay marriage (found in the Bible) can also be used against divorce and remarriage (these scriptures are also found in the Bible.

There are those who are opposed to gay marriage but would ignore the scriptures about divorce and remarriage.

And there are some who would ignore neither but would pay attention to both and occupy the same position and seat that Kim Davis does.

What do you do when they say no to issuing a marriage license to everyone they believe contradicts the scriptures — including both gay marriage and heterosexual divorce and remarriage?

So which government do you want:

1.) Government that says no to gay marriage that goes against the scriptures (which gay marriage does). Or...

2.) Government that says let’s adhere to both the scriptures, those that forbid gay marriage and also forbid divorce and remarriage? Or...

3.) Neither 1 nor 2?

Is it either/or, both/and, neither/nor?

As I have said many times, the same arguments that have been used in favor of gay marriage can also be used in favor of polygamy.

But I also know that the scriptural arguments against gay marriage can be used against divorce and remarriage, also based upon the scriptures.

I ask you the same questions that I asked in post #24...

No, there is no ignorance about scripture ion my part.

I never said that these respective Holy Canons differed in opposition to gay marriage. They are all opposed.

I only aid that each differs in the number of books within the respective Holy Canons.

As I have said before, there are multiple Holy Canons - RC, Protestant (1 and 2), the Greek Orthodox Bible and the Ethiopic Bible.

And each of them does not differ on either gay marriage or divorce and remarriage.

As I have also said, the same arguments that have been used in favor of gay marriage can also be used in favor of polygamy. I have said this for quite some time.

But I have also warned against the dangers of religious sectarianism, too, as I have warned about the aforementioned and the oft-tribalism found within religious sectarianism.

So what do you want?

A “state” that says:

1.) No to gay marriage that violates the scriptures?

2.) No to gay marriage (which clearly violates the scriptures) and yes to divorce and remarriage (which also clearly violates the scriptures)?

3.) No to both?

4.) Yes to both?

What in your definition, then, is a stupid thing(s) or even a stupid law(s)?

What is your definition of what a wise thing or a wise law is?

Surely nobody can look at the farce that took place with all its lies and distortions and power plays... and say AHH! This was WISE!

At least nobody honest. Trouble is people want to be dishonest today.

The answer to your question 1) is that you can’t. Our system of government was based on having a secular government for a population of people of a broadly Judeo-Christian ethos, and that system is not sustainable as a secular government for a secular people.

Your liberaltarian desire to magically disengage marriage from government involvement is quite wrong. A host of evils comes from promiscuity, adultery, and easy divorce, and fag marriage and the polygamy that is soon to come will only exacerbate those. The civilizational ideal of Western Civilization for centuries was a stable family,a man, a woman, and children, and by casting that aside, an inevitable decay into barbarism will soon follow.
