I once told a catholic priest I was a recovering catholic and his reaction was priceless, worth the price of admission at least.
I have NO doubts at all why the church of rome arose in the very same culture which gave us la cosa nostra and italian organized crime families.
Governments the world over follow the very same models of control.
I was 14 the last time I entered a church for other than tourist value.
As a christian, born-again, I consider catholics ostensible christians; Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden are living proof of this.
I do hope Malachy’s prophecy is true and that this IS the last pope.
“I do hope Malachys prophecy is true and that this IS the last pope”
Actually, I do too—although we have no idea if it is.
We’re clearly in the last days regardless.
God Bless!
So what did the priest say to you.
Another point — once baptized a Catholic you are always a Catholic; you just aren’t an active one.
1. Not every Italian is or was part of organized crime. That's a stereotype, and unfair. Every ethnic group that came to this country got pushed around by the one before. They needed protection. I'm not justifying it; that's just the way it was. FYI- the largest single lynching in American history took place in New Orleans in 1891. Check this out: Anti- Italianism
2. Rome ruled most of the world. St. Peter founded the Church in Rome. All roads led to Rome, literally and figuratively. It was founded by a Galilean Jew, not an Italian with a Thompson repeating rifle.
You want the Catholic Church to die out? Stand in line - that is, if you think you can do what the hates of hell cannot.
Just as you stereotype Italians, you stereotype Catholics based on Pelosi and her ilk. News flash: Not all 2.1 billion of us are perfect. Not all follow the Faith. But don't judge me or your fellow FR Catholics based on them. Born again? Good for you. Now grow up again.
