You might enjoy reading a book I just finished "The Price to Pay" by Joseph Fadelle who went to serve in a rural outpost and had a Christian roommate. He planned to convert the roommate to Islam, but instead he became the convert.

It shares how he too was shot by family members and saved by the Lord. His constant searching for baptism is a story in itself. Plus he did a stint in jail for his beliefs.

Becoming a Christian in that culture is something even your father or mother will kill you for. Read the book.
