#1 The barriers between Jew and Gentile interaction was actually broken down by this action.

It started even before they met. Jews would go out of their way (four days extra?) to avoid traveling through Samaria. Jesus could have gone that way I imagine like all the other Jews did. But the Bible says:

“And He had to pass through Samaria.”

HAD to!?

I’m not sure if Jesus could foresee the exact type of encounter, but He knew that he had to reach out to the Samarians.

I’m not sure if Jesus could foresee the exact type of encounter, but He knew that he had to reach out to the Samarians.

In His divine nature, He knew exactly what would happen, and when.
