A great scene reminding us to search what we have done as we accuse others.

In today’s world, the mob would lack the humility to admit fault in themselves and she would be dead. Today’s narcissists view themselves as perfect. That’s what the self-esteem movement has wrought.

____________________________

That is very different from what the Bible says. God repeatedly informs us (try Romans Ch 3, for example) that ALL people in all times, without conversion by the saving grace of God, are haters and enemies of God — even if we deceive ourselves into thinking we are not. Narcissism is the natural state of people. All people. There is no humility apart from being in Christ.

“None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
13 “Their throat is an open grave;
they use their tongues to deceive.”
“The venom of asps is under their lips.”
14 “Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 in their paths are ruin and misery,
17 and the way of peace they have not known.”
18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

The self-esteem movement is not a cause of people not turning to God; it is a symptom.

Furthermore, many who consider themselves Christian by pointing to their own “righteousness” are not Christians at all. Read Matthew 3:21-23.

One of many great scenes from Jesus of Nazareth. The entire movie is well worth watching if you haven’t already.

I once knew a woman who, at 16, moved in with her first pimp and began a life as a prostitute. Not surprisingly, she chose adultery (and continued prostitution) throughout her marriage. She is, without a doubt, burning in hell...and deservedly so.

The point, sometimes evil people never change.

And of course the guy gets a pass. It’s always the woman’s fault.

I once read a post by a pervert who had been on this site for sixteen years.

This sick whacko insisted that a minor who was being statutorily raped by adults who paid some guy who had her under his thumb was not an under age kid being preyed upon sexually, but was instead a prostitute making her own way.

Oh how he lambasted this young girl for the situation she was in. Guess he was so much better because no men ever did that to him.

There is no indication at all that the sick pervert tried all any time to bring what was being done to this young minor to the authorities. Probably she should burn in hell because she didn't pull herself out of that life on her own (and if she ever did, well, she had had sex and somebody got paid) even though in the bible Tamar, Gomer, and Rahab had been prostitutes. Come to think of it, in the book of Genesis Judah admits outright that his part in the transaction was more unrighteous than Tamar's part.

Yes, we have become a sick, immoral society.
Smug about it, too.

Are you implying something with this part of your post?

Right on. Seems a lot of Christians forget the judge not part.

Matthew 7:1-3King James Version (KJV)

7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Hubris.
You personify it.

I know a whole lot about children forced into prostitution.
By your own admission you knew of an adult pimping an minor.

Did you bring that to the attention of the authorities?

Did you or did you not assert that the girl is now probably burning in hell...and deservedly so?

I didn’t put words into your mouth.
I put you our words into their proper context.

When this girl was put in this position she (as a minor) would have been unable to get herself out of it without help. Were you the help?

Or were you the pharasee judging her smugly from the sidelines?

What does your post indicate?

Bob Dylan wrote that ‘Everybody must get stoned’, yet he is now a Christian.

Here, I’ll help him out.

“She is, without a doubt, burning in hell...and deservedly so.” Your words.

Interesting that you know what was in this womans heart, and the heart of God. And you also sound pretty happy that her fate is hell. Not exactly a Christian attitude.

But go ahead, keep passing judgement. Keep crossing your arms, and determining who is worthy of Heaven, and who isn’t. And keep dancing on the graves of those who you deem unworthy. If it makes you feel better.

You do realize of course that the lyrics to that song have nothing to do with getting high, right? The lyrics are about passing judgement.

Well, they’ll stone you when you’re trying to be so good
They’ll stone you just like they said they would
They’ll stone you when you’re trying to go home
And they’ll stone you when you’re there all alone
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

Well, they’ll stone you when you’re walking on the street
They’ll stone you when you’re tryin’ to keep your seat
They’ll stone you when you’re walkin’ on the floor
They’ll stone you when you’re walkin’ to the door
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

I’ve been thinking about things Jesus taught that if lived would change the world. This story is one of them.

No condemnation - Romans 8.
