Wow. That is one heck of a leap. You are taking that way outside of the context of the marriage feast. Your hermeneutic is over-spiritualizing passages to the point where anything can mean anything you want. Read the passage again and keep it within the context of the event.

The soul of Mary passes prayers to God? Really? Islam is more believable.

Try these verses on for size then.

Matthew 6:7-15 "And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this:

Matthew 23: 8-10 But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ.
