“the Lord says, Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”

Christ does not say “tradition will never pass away.”

Only God’s Word is eternal and testified to throughout Scripture. Thanks be to God.

Really? So God isn't eternal, but the Bible is?

That's what you said, after all. Just taking you at your word.

"Tradition" is nothing other than the Church's understanding of the whole counsel of God. Over and above that, you seem want to substitute your own personal understanding of that counsel, as if Christ spoke to you, and only you, personally when he told his Apostles that the Holy Spirit would lead them unto all truth.

Except that that promise wasn't given to you personally, but to the Church as a whole, represented at that point in time in the persons of the Apostles. So when you derogate "tradition," you're derogating the work of the Holy Spirit in revealing "all truth" according to Christ's own promise, as recorded for you in the Holy Scriptures you claim to revere.
