One of the leading Christian voices in the nation, Russell Moore, exclaimed Thursday that America has a moral responsibility to take in refugees from war-torn Syrian.
"We have a responsibility as a country to this region of the world," Moore told The Daily Signal. "We do have some culpability here."
Though Moore, who currently heads the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, felt that America's actions contributed to the rise of ISIS and the Syrian refugee crisis, he did not specifically label what they were. Moore emphasized that, regardless of the reason, America needs to step in.
"We need to have compassion upon people who are fleeing from this sort of tyranny, many of which are brothers and sisters in Christ," he said.
Russell Moore proposed many of his ideas Wednesday when the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission hosted an event in Washington titled, "The Syrian Refugee Crisis: A Christian Response."
Is he a legit Southern Baptist, or is he part of this Open Borders Baptist crowd who are receiving hundreds of millions from the Øbama Regime to resettle ISIS members into the States?
Another day, another stupid comment by Russell Moore.
He is unfortunately a legit SB bozo. He is the head of something or other. I forget. I try to ignore him.
Where did he pull this crap out of? Americans have no such responsibility to welcome their killers. This boy needs to sober up.
As a Catholic, I feel your pain. Sadly, "bozo" status seems to apply to the majority of our hierarchy these days.
A lot of the WMU staff have been posting on their personal Facebook pages about how they support Sryians coming here.
He is a southern baptist, but more of a social justice and ecumenical one. That is the opinion of some. You can check his blog russellmoore.com or go to the elrc website. He is also apart of the gospel coalition.
I could maybe accept the argument that the USA has a moral obligation to welcome Christian and Yazidi refugees who have been subject to endless brutality at the hands of Sunni Muslims, due in large part to the horrifying Obama/Clinton foreign policy.
Taking in Sunni Muslims now is the moral equivalent of welcoming German Nazi refugees in the middle of World War II.
Isn’t it the truth!!! Sad. Thanks for your comments.
It’s funny how muslim countries like Turkey, Jordan, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia don’t have a responsibility to accept muslim Syrian refugees.
Sounds like a Jimmy Carter SBC apostate idiot.
No, we don’t.

No, we don’t.
GMTA
He is not entirely apostate, yet. He may be headed there. He has been moving left slowly and for a long period of time.
I am SB and this guy only speaks for himself. We have some real nuts.
America has an absolute moral obligation to relocate the endangered Syrian Christians to a place they will be safe, which ruled out just about every where except the United States.
The reason for this is because our elected President is is one of the primary collaborators responsible for the disaster in Syria.
sadly, we cannot and will not do so.
I’ve seen two Muslim families this week in shopping areas in my locale. Last week one woman in a headscarf. Unusual for my locale up to now. The women were in headscarves. This means the local Catholic Charities is moving them in. I’m not saying this to be anti-Muslim. Just reporting to you all that my local landscape is changing.
Obviously Moore doesn’t study his Bible enough to understand to develop wisdom and discernment.
He is not talking just about the Christians. Even them, though, we could help much better if we help them closer to home. If there is no way to help the Christians there, then we can talk about it. But what about the Muslims?
The best way to help all of them is to find them a close by safe place, wipe the ISIS and their clones off the face of the planet, and then return the refugees to their own homes.
“Prior to entering the ministry, Moore was an aide to U. S. Congressman Gene Taylor (D-Miss), serving in various roles including as campaign communications director and press spokesman in Taylor’s 1992 campaign against Republican Paul Harvey.”
All I need to know about him right there.
