Carolyn Payne grew up in a good Christian home with loving parents and opportunities to make the most of her life.
Instead, she decided to become an abortion doctor.
Payne, an Ob/Gyn resident (pictured above), wrote a shockingly bold column for the womenâs website XO Jane about how her faith and upbringing influenced her to abort unborn babies for a living. Through her experiences, Payne flaunted her career goal and what she perceived as the importance of training programs for abortion doctors in the U.S.
âI love providing abortion care to women, and I am proud to do so,â Payne wrote, adding that she and many of her colleagues are ânot afraid, embarrassed or ashamed to say so.â
Payne explained:
Who wants to be an abortion provider?
I do. And I donât have a nose-ring or a tattoo. Iâm a 5â blonde from Ohio and my last boyfriend was a pastor. In fact my Midwest, Christian upbringing is largely responsible for my belief that providing abortion services is one of the most meaningful ways I feel I can contribute to making the world a more fair and equal place for women.

⦠I never experienced unplanned pregnancy because I was fortunate enough to have parents who understood the normalcy of teenage sexuality, and provided me education and opportunities to prevent undesired pregnancy and disease. I could have sex, just like a man could, and go on with my life, with minimal fear of life-changing consequences (i.e. unwanted pregnancy).
I realize this is a privilege in our society and that is unjust. All women who desire contraception should have it; itâs necessary for women to be able to achieve their goals. Not because women are sluts, but because women are humans, and humans do have sex.
Payne clearly is very proud of her abortion work. In one revolting admission, she openly admitted that aborting an unborn baby for the first time made her and other abortion doctors-in-training âfeel goodâ â though Payne never mentioned unborn babies in her column. She wrote:
To us, abortion training was something we advocated for in medical school, and actively sought out in our residency training programs. To us, abortion training was exciting, because it meant we were developing the skills necessary to provide women with safe reproductive healthcare. To many of us, the decision to receive training in abortion wasnât âagonizingâ at all as a recent corresponding piece in Yahoo! Health described. Rather, providing our first MVA [manual vacuum aspiration abortion] was a âfeel good procedure,â because we had successfully performed an intervention that changed a womanâs life for the better!
No where did Payne mention what happens to the unborn child in an MVA abortion â how the unborn babyâs body is crushed and sliced and then suctioned out of the motherâs womb. Then the babyâs body parts are typically put into a bowl to make sure they are all there. This gruesome killing procedure was âexcitingâ to Payne.
But her shocking admissions did not end there. Payne argued that abortion makes life more âfairâ for women who did not have the education or resources to prevent their pregnancies or simply thought a baby would get in the way of their education or career. She also claimed that abortions are âfairâ to children:
And most importantly, I think it is fair to children, that they are born into a world where they are wanted, and loved, and cared for, and have the resources they need to thrive. I think abortion is a social good and a tremendous way in which physicians can contribute to a more socially just world.
Payne concluded with thoughts about possibly becoming pregnant in the future. Abortion is already in her mind if her âpregnancyâ does not turn out as expected (no mention of her unborn child)â âI hope that my doctor will put my life and health first.â
That means I hope my doctor is trained to terminate pregnancies. I hope they get that training in medical school, residency, fellowship, and beyond. I also hope they feel good about it, because it is a good thing. Saving womenâs lives, and enabling women to have both the public and private life she desires is a very good thing.
Payneâs musings are a disquieting look at how abortion doctors justify their horrific treatment â by completely ignoring the humanity of the unborn child.
When I was in school I did a persuasive speech on abortion, and one of the magazine articles I read was about a pro-abortion rally that was held outside an abortuary. They brought out one of the babies that had survived the abortion (I can’t remember what kind of abortion it was) and as the crowd watched the infant struggling to breathe and finally expiring they all cheered, like the hags in the Aslan death scene in “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”.
And that’s what those people are, in their depraved condition. Hags celebrating death just as surely as ISIS celebrates death.
I pray that they all repent, and that our entire nation turns from this evil and chooses life. Without repentance there is no hope for this nation or for any individual in it.

Oh’ God, I lift this woman up to you so you can touch her heart with your Holy Spirit and bring her to repentance for her sins...
This is simple to figure out.
She may have grown up in a Christian home, but that does not make her a Christian.
Being a Christian is a “personal” decision. It doesn’t matter what home you grow up in .. that decision is yours alone.
And .. while some children have accepted Christ as a child, unless they have good teaching at their church AND AT HOME, they will often turn and go their own way.
Evidently, this could be exactly what this person did. She chose for herself to become an abortion doctor.
But, God doesn’t let go .. maybe someday she will return to HIM.
I agree with what you said.
Here is the but in that..
Some denominations do not teach what they should. As some FReepers have said in the past, some pastors don’t if hardly ever preach a pro life sermon.
What about those denominations with a Sunday school do they teach pro life topics? Since 1973 every place that calls it’s self Christian should have done so yet some have gone the other direction and teamed up with the enemy.
Then there are other issues as well. I could go on and on but suffice to say some houses of God are weak to start with and just don’t put out good Christians like they should. This woman thinks she’s Christian because, more than likely she attends church. A church, any church. A lot of people are like this and believe this. You and I know this reasoning is wrong but has not stopped a lot of others from thinking that is what makes you a Christian.
God is just. He did not forgive the nation of Israel for its many adulteries and He especially mentioned sacrificing their children. I now know why Daniel was sick after he saw the vision of judgment.
The king who legitimized it repented and judgment was delayed but not forgiven.
cute I suppose but evil lurks within....she is the very definition of a leftist....a proud murderer
Well, Nineveh was saved through repentance, despite the best efforts of Jonah.
I don’t know why, but I find the Book of Jonah to be somewhat hilarious. It’s possibly I find amusement in the idea of someone running away to try and avoid doing as God commands.
We all must choose Christ for ourselves, parents can’t do it for their children. It is possible that she has rejected all that her parents believe. I’ve seen it before and those who rebel sometimes do it in a big way, causing great heartache for the parents.
I bet she’d be appalled at working in the kill room of a slaughterhouse.
“some pastors donât if hardly ever preach a pro life sermon”
As we all know, it should be a sermon, but also, there is a high likelihood that women in the congregation have had abortions.
Yes, God did send them a prophet and they did repent. As did the king of Judah and his grandson was Josiah under whose reign was a great revival. His son however, again, brought back the evil practice and the invasion occurred.
Nineveh was the capital of Assyria. So I’m hoping that God will send a great prophet to the world (probably going to be the 2 prophets of Revelation) because He would not judge the nations without first teaching the truth. It will be 40 years of legalized abortion in Israel in 2016. There are only 5 nations where abortion is illegal.
God bless you. Amen
An abortionist happens to be more of a butcher than a physician. What is one to make of a “medical procedure” whose sole purpose is to terminate a human life?
I love how liberal progressives (whose god is actually themselves) always frame up a ‘Christian’ according to their world view so that it conforms. Now, to be sure, this is necessary. They then use such framing to “lecture” all other Christians to do the “christian” thing. In this case the effort is to fully christianize the satanic practice of abortion...nothing about sin changes. Satan ALWAYS makes it look innocent and good and helpful and such.
“The woman saw the tree as being good for food, delightful to the eye and a tree desirable to make one wise, so she took of it’s fruit and ate...” Gen 3:6
Humankind will do this with everything with the right excuse. It is only the power of an unchanging, holy and perfect God in our hearts that we can stand up against the temptations to satisfy self every time.
This woman has forsaken Christianity completely because she has told God what is and is not sin...”Surely you will not die” is in her heart and mind and played out in her actions.
Christian is not a meaningful word for many these days...perhaps some other definition would identify us, but even saying born again is something akin to Christian.
She is no Christian.
Anyone who can delight in cold blooded murder is no Christian.
It is evident that she does have a seared conscience.
