I didn’t see him condemning evangelicals in general.
I am a Christian but am not a member of the Catholic church. But thanks for the interesting youtube link and your comment too.
Islam is something like antinomian belief which teaches that it is alright to sin because the grace of Christ has forgiven you but the muslim way is that it is alright to sin as long as you do it in the name of allah. You can kill, steal or rape as long as you it to infidels then it is not a sin. Totally the teaching of hell and the only cult that has survived for 1400 years and rules over 57 nations and 1 billion in population. It is the great granddaddy of heresies and satanic teachings.
Islam is the adversary always lying in wait ready to pounce.
You are welcome! We are four for four for fallen-aways, so I copied your 2 Timothy verse over onto Facebook. Ty. :)
He specifically said “among CERTAIN Evangelicals.” Not all Evangelicals buy into Dispensationalism. The majority of Christians in the world do not.
“Not all Evangelicals buy into Dispensationalism. The majority of Christians in the world do not.”
A great many Christians believe in the AntiChrist. They do not have to be dispensationalists to do so.
As to dispensationalism. We are not in the Garden of Eden. We are not in the Theocratic Earthly Kingdom of the Nation of Israel as Jews. We are not in the future Millennial Kingdom. Unless a Christian believes he is in one of those, he believes in some kind of dispensations.
ALL Christians believe in the AntiChrist (it's clearly talked about in Scripture), but only a small percentage of all Christians worldwide ascribe to Dispensationalism of the type popular only since the 1800's among certain segments of American Christianity promoted, for example, in the Scofield Reference Bible, The Late, Great Planet Earth, or the Left Behind series. It is that particular belief system that Msgr. Pope was referring to.
fidelis,
I understand what you are saying, but I do not believe Arch...Pope is referring to dispensationalists. Many, many non-dispensationalists believe the Scriptures that the antiChrist plays a prominent role in end-time events and tie that person specifically to the Apostle John’s comments that AP refers to. They do not have to be dispensationalists to do so.
Why not, we welcome all back to he church.
