I'm not a modern Catholic; but Luther was probably the first one, before he apostatized.

The Catholic church kicked Luther out for daring to speak out against the corruption and immorality he saw within the ranks of the Catholic church.

Leaving was not his choice. What was he supposed to do? Stand there and watch it and shut up like a good little sycophant?

How is what you're doing so much different than what Luther did? Aren't you calling for the Church to return to what you perceive are its roots, getting back to the basics of *true* Catholic faith, whatever that may be?

And again, who are lay Catholics to pass judgment on what their hierarchy are doing? On what basis do you make the determination that they are wrong?

What's your truth standard that you use?

And how does the uneducated and untrained laity qualify to pass judgement on those who are in leadership over them?

If Catholics really believe that their priests and popes are alter Christus then how do they (you) dare to speak against him? Do you judge Christ as well?

How did the College of Cardinals pick the pope? Under the leading and direction of the Holy Spirit or not?

Martin Luther was not excommunicated for speaking out against corruption but for teaching heresy. If he had limited himself to attacking corruption and immorality he would be counted as a saint today as have many others who did just so.

BTW, how was Luther speaking out against immorality when he approved Phillip of Hesse to commit bigamy?

The GOPe is having fits because of Trump daring to speak out.
