Arabic speaking Christians call God Allah, so comparisons can dispense with the God vs. Allah issue. Islam’s God has supreme will so that He can arbitrarily reverse the course of physical and moral nature, He can summarily declare evil to be good, He can tell us to lie, the Old Testament on that subject notwithstanding. The Christian God’s will is to send His Son to die for us, to temporarily suspend His omnipotence, to allow His creatures to commit the sacrilege of Deicide. It’s a difference in Islam vs. Christianity’s conception of Will: We say that will is the decision to love. Satan’s crime could be construed as a perversion of the decision to love, to love himself to a disordered extent in violation of his primary duty to love God. Islam’s God seems to be pretty sensitive on the issue of His creatures having regard for His omnipotence, as if it were in question.

I read your post three times and can’t figure out if you are agreeing with the OP or not. So, are you saying that Allah is God or not?

Exactly.

Islamic Call to Prayer, phonetic and translated to English from Arabic:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allahu Akbar
God is Great
Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah
I bear witness that there is no god except the One God.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There are not two occurrences of the word “Allah” in the second line. “Allah” is a proper name, not the term for a generic deity, unlike our word “God”.

My version: Christianity believes that goodness is intrinsic part of of God’s nature, just as it is the nature of water to be wet.

Islam believes that this imposes a limit upon God’s power, and that good is whatever he declares it to be. If he says it to be so, murder, rape, and deceit are good, and water will be dry.

The Muslim Allah is a god of pure and primary power, alien to his creation.

Islam does not permit Mohammed or his version of God to be judged by any human standard, any outside evidence, any cry of the conscience.

Allah may be a corruption of JHWH.

God’s Will is life and love. allah’s will is death and war. Arabia has been conquered, Christians speaking Arabic MUST call God “allah”.

“allah” of course is the moon god from Muhammad’s local village.
