If you view creation as a film (except with 3 dimensional frames instead of 2-dimensional frames on the reel), then a truly omniscient God would have created the entire universe and every frame of existence on that “film” from the beginning to the end.
Science is merely studying the rules of thumb that God used when making the roll of film. That is how everything in the future is know (e.g. who is saved, who is not). A miracle would be something is out of whack from our perspective, e.g. something appears out of thin air that wasn’t in the previous frame). From our perspective, we have free will and things are happening around us.
From God’s perspective, everything is predetermined because he is holding the roll of film.
Thanks for posting. Linda Kimball’s columns are always interesting. I’ve been reading them for several years and find them quite thought provoking.
Don’t forget that environmentalists are basically pagans.
Pre-monotheistic pagans worshipped nature, which includes making nature more important than people.
Monotheistic religions put God on top.
This can be seen in left vs right environmental concerns.
The right is interested in controlling pollution because pollution hurts people.
The left is interested in controlling people because people “hurt” nature.
There is nothing new under the sun —as it is written— Unless I am mistaken the Sacred Writings call this the Great falling away.
