That might be true if God had not imparted a germ of his spirit in us in the form of free will. As such, the Spirit influences without dictating.
God is Being, and is outside of time. All is now to God. We mortal humans have no physical/temporal/4-d way of analogy or comprehension; it is Living Mystery.

That might be true if God had not imparted a germ of his spirit in us in the form of free will. God breathed life into us-not His Spirit. Scriptures teaches us we are evil until we become new creatures in Christ. It is THEN that we receive His Spirit which guides us to all truth.
Man always was free to choose. We just choose to do everything that which is evil.
