So I decided to research this 'inclusive reckoning' that you mention...As it turns out, the argument for inclusive reckoning is a ruse used by your religion to convince people like you to believe you can turn about 36 hours into 3 days and 3 nights to justify it's false teaching on burial and resurrection of Jesus...
Inclusive reckoning is not something unique to first century Jews...It is something we all use and have used since men started speaking to each other...And of course your version of inclusive reckoning has no accuracy to it since inclusive reckoning never includes the first day...Only the last day...It may be odd to a sheepish Catholic but we can know when inclusive reckoning applies by simple words attached to the time frame such as 'on the third day', after the third day, when three days were accomplished, etc...
By applying your ridiculous method of 'inclusive reckoning' in the scriptures let's say a Jewish farmer had a broke down tracter...He has it hauled to the local mechanic and gets there about 4:00 in the afternoon...
The mechanic looks it over and tells the farmer it's going to take a day to get the tractor back on it's feet...The farmer says, 'no problem', I'll just wait around and I can drive it back home and be there in time for supper...
So you have to believe that ridiculous story or you're trying to deceive me (us)...An hour does not equate to a day for the farmer any more than it did to Jesus when he died...
I read thru a number of 'Catholic' pages on this 'inclusive reckoning' and what a hoot that was...
You may think it is a “hoot”, but it is how days are counted in the Scriptures and if you have a problem with it, you have a problem with the Holy Spirit since He ordained it.
So if you ever run into a real rabbi, ask him this:
A Jewish boy is born on Tuesday the 5th five minutes before sundown. On what day must he be circumcised on?
The answer is the eighth day, or Tuesday the 12th.
Bonus question, if someone were to die on the Tuesday the 5th and rise from the dead on the third day, on what would he rise?
Answer is on Thursday the 7th.
The ignorance of the Scriptures is really stunning.
