Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Paul's admonitions are not supposed to bind the new Christians under a set of prohibitions. In fact, Paul says that "All things are lawful". But that doesn't mean that all things are helpful! In this instance he is speaking of meat that has been sacrificed to idols, but in our own day it could be anything...alcoholic beverages, smoking, delicious pastries served in the presence of a diabetic, or whatever. Why would I want to do anything that would cause another person to have to struggle with their conscience, even if it is OK for me?

This consideration for others is NOT the same as legalism or even today's hideous practice of suppressing others with new rules of "Political Correctness." Paul is, instead, proclaiming the freedom to make our own decisions, but to be motivated by kindness.

How such a reasonable policy could be twisted into legalism is a real stretch!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

This Symbol Represents Christians in The Middle East, who desperately need our Prayers.

Hallelujah and Amen

Numbers 6: 23 Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the way you shall bless the Israelites. Say to them: The Lord bless you, and keep you [protect you, sustain you, and guard you]; The Lord make His face shine upon you [with favor], And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness];The Lord lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval],And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life]. 27 So Aaron and his sons shall put My name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

And this we do and proclaim and agree in Jesus name. Amen.
