Elections....err...I mean selections have consequences.....

Catholics keep telling me (or did) that the Holy Spirit though the cardinals decides who is Pope....

I have not heard that argument lately...I wonder why...

The president of the Mormon Church is selected the same way. There are 12 men who go into separate rooms and pray and when they come out they all have written down the same name. It’s never failed.

By the way, I don’t believe it for a minute.

The notion that “the Holy Spirit picks the Pope” is a rank superstition. It is not taught by the Church. The Conclave participates IN NO WAY in infallibility. It’s just a meeting of Cardinals.
