My daughter Kelly has been in the hospital all week fighting a blood infection. She was moved to ICU today and put on a ventilator because of severe pneumonia. She is not doing very well and I would appreciate the prayers of our prayer warriors here on Free Republic.
One step at a time is the only way to take it. God Bless!

Kelly Prayer Update
Today was another mixed bag. The good news is that her kidney numbers were up, but her liver numbers were down. They tried to wean Kelly off the ventilator, but she was just too weak right now to breath on her own and she still has some noticeable fluid in the lungs. She has not really had any nourishment through her stomach for weeks. But after the GI procedure she had yesterday, she is not bleeding in her stomach, so she is finally starting to absorb the food through her feeding tube. So that is the good news.
She is awake and aware but can’t speak because of the ventilator. It is obvious that she is both worried and depressed, especially when the doctors come in and right in front of her use terms like “Well, it’s not game over yet.”
Some of the doctors are optimistic and some are pessimistic. She has so many issues that when they fix one, another problem crops up. She had a compromised immune system to begin with because of her liver problem and when she got the blood infection it pretty much snowballed to all of her internal organs. The infection appears to be under control although something is still hiding somewhere so they are keeping her on antibiotics.
It is a difficult road. We continue to be positive and hopeful. She is holding her own despite all the problems and if we can get the stomach and lung issues resolved we think she might be over the hill.

Almighty Father, please send your Angels to watch over and guard Kelly as You heal her and make her whole. Please guide her physicians and provide for the needs of all concerned. I ask this in the Holy Name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.
