So, any idea what event that date represents?
I saw something on the internet about the numbers 9/23 back in Sept that was connected with all the Jonathan Cahn and Shemitah stuff.
But nothing panned out this year.
It is the first “dating” verse in Revelation. So it could be the start of the seventieth week or something significant like Psalm 83 or Ezk 38. There is a total solar eclipse that literally slashes across the US in August 2017 and then completes the X in 2024. So I am not sure exactly what it signifies, but it is something “Biblical” ;-)

Actually we can’t know for sure. There was a big dip in the Stock Market, and if you look back you see that his is when ISIS/ISIL/IS first became prominent in the news.
Sir Issac Newton’s calculation was based on Israel getting control of Jerusalem as the countdown to the start of Daniel’s Seventieth Week. That was the 9/23/2015 date. Did the Anti-Christ confirm a seven year covenant with many on that date, and it hasn’t been announced? I can’t find anywhere that indicates that the Church has to leave before the Seventieth Week occurs. We are only guaranteed to be out of her before the Anti-Christ is revealed. When Paul says that the “dead in Christ will be raised first”, he doesn’t give any indication of the spacing before that and “we who are still here will be caught up to meet Jesus in the air”.
The boundaries of the dispensations don’t have to be discrete times. The Jewish sacrifices in the Temple continued for 40 more years after Jesus “fulfilled the law”, until the Jews finally pissed of Titus so much that he sacked Jerusalem and took down the Temple stone by stone to get the melted gold. So Daniel’s Seventieth Week could start before the Age of the Gentiles/Church is over.
The point is to watch and occupy until He comes for us. Always recognizing that we can’t understand everything and the His Will will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
So, any idea what event that date represents?
Sept 23, 2017 lands on 3 Tishre, 5778.
That day:
- Is the Sabbath
- Is a very special Sabbath - Shabbat Shuvah (the Sabbath of Return).
- Is a fast day
- Has a new moon
- Immediately follows Rosh Hashanah (the New Year)
- Is in the 10 Days of Awe (Yamim Noraim) or the Days of Repentance, that ends with Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement / Sabbath of Sabbaths), which also lands on a Sabbath that year.
