How about a 3rd option? One that’s much cheaper....keep them out. your talk of “quarantining” and “eradicating” has been used by neo-cons and liberal interventionists as an excuse to send lots of troops and money around the world as well as drive up our VA costs here at home when we have to care for all these wounded warriors. If Europe doesn’t want to keep them out, then let them fall...but don’t waste one dime subsidizing their defense costs.

That is one huge leap to be made. There are myriad other factors in play, such as the messed-with country’s government, economic structure, education systems, religious underpinnings, etc. For example, to lay blame on a foreign country that buys billions in oil, thereby enriching certain levels of the government/individuals, is not the fault of the oil buyer.
