But the front between Reformation and divorce is perhaps not so different. The papal Reformation commemoration and the first step towards recognition of divorce are connected by a common thread: Protestantism.

I worked in marriage prep for a good, conservative church. You have no idea how unprepared these people are even with pre-cana, etc. Maybe 10% of Catholic marriages are sacramental given the state of the current crop of Catholics getting married. Just following the form doesn’t a sacrament make. The presumption of sacramentality entailed in current canon law is a flaw that needs to be addressed. L
