Yes, and that’s why they can get an annulment. Francis’ proposal is talking about people skipping over the annulment (where the Church examines the validity of the marriage - and the annulment is usually granted). They just “remarry” while their first marriage is still legally in effect. Francis did people and families no favor by confusing the issue.
That’s funny. So these less than prepared Catholics are supposed to follow canon law, which they know less well than their catechism. I am known for saying it takes a lot of knowledge to be a Catholic. You have proved it. Most Catholics are “peasants” my friend.
