SOME of the ECF (early church fathers) taught that the rock was Peter's profession, Some that it is Jesus Who is the Rock, the corner stone of the Ekklesia.

An institution is not going to get you salvation. Faithing in Jesus comes by hearing, and hearing by The Word of God. It does not come by eating god at a catholic pagan altar, or reading your rosary beads to Mary the Mother of Jesus, or by wearing a Brown scalpula indulgence someone purchased, or by being baptized by a catholic priest, or by faith in sacraments.

The Bible records, for all to read, what the people listening to Peter's sermon on the day of Pentecost received IMMEDIATELY.

The Bible records for us that the Holy Spirit of God came into the believers in the house of Cornelius even before Peter finished his sermon there.

Salvation is not a yoyo with catholic priesthood holding the string. When the Bible says three thousand were added to the EKKLESIA that day, that number did not drop to a lower number a day or two later. It is by God's Promise that these were added that day, and God does not break His promises.

The Bible tells us that more than three thousand WERE ADDED TO THE EKKLESIA the day of Pentecost. The EKKLESIA is the Body of Christ. The Catholic institution is not the body of Christ, though there are likely many members of His body struggling along in that religion.
