Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

"Just One Look, That's All It Took"

This heartbreaking, pivotal moment, captured here by Dr. Luke reaches deeply into the soul and spirit. Peter, motivated by fear and embarrassment, has denied Jesus three times and now is looking straight into the Eyes of the One he has just repudiated. The denial was bad enough, but just hours earlier, Peter had bragged that he would NEVER desert Jesus, and had even drawn his weapon to defend Him. Why did Peter even GO to that courtyard in the first place? All the other Disciples had fled in the opposite direction. Was it curiosity? Did Peter think he could try again to rescue Jesus? Was Peter still in denial over the gravity of the situation?

Whatever Peter's motives were, all was dissolved with just one look from the Master. I can not even begin to fathom how devastating that must have been!

And yet, in our own modern society, how many of us find ourselves denying Truth in order to "fit in"? Our civilization is not nearly as brutal as the one in which Peter found himself.

I pray for "Just One Look" from the Master, that I might repent of my own sins and follow Him.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
