Russian Orthodox leader: American, European de-Christianization is 'Apocalyptic'

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church received a delegation from the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople on May 24 and lamented the secularization of Europe and the United States.

“We are deeply worried to see what is going on in the Christian world,” said Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, who referred to the “ongoing de-Christianization of the European and American civilization” as “an apocalyptic scene: sin is affirmed by law.”

“As you know, we underwent a period of state atheism,” he said in reference to over seven decades of Soviet Communist rule. “However, the moral paradigm remained Christian in its major aspects. This is what saved us: our literature and fine arts were permeated with Christian ideas, hence the morality of our people remained Christian.”

Patriarch Kirill added that today the Russian Orthodox Church “has universities of her own, as well as over 40 seminaries, a thousand monasteries, Orthodox TV channels, journals, newspapers.”

Pretty much, yes.
I am beginning to think that Africa is going to have re-evangelize the US.

The African Anglican church already sends missionaries to the USA, because they believe the Episcopal church is apostate.

BTW, the Anglican and Episcopal church are the same denomination. I’m not sure why they go by a different name in the USA, but I suspect it has something to do with the American revolution.

My father left the Episcopal church for the African Anglicans. That is why I think the Africans will be evangelizing us. God bless them for their spiritual strength.

Don’t forget that Putin and the Russian Orthodox Church are tied at the hip.

When people ask “how can you have anything good to say about Putin?” here’s one. He supports traditional Russian values and is pro Christianity.

It’s what the NWO is all about. Taking light from the world and putting the likely people’s necks ipunderbthe foot if tyranny for power and control. In other words it’s blatant Satanism.

The Russian and Greek Orthodox churches are all that’s really left of Christianity and the Byzantines in particular. The rest is a joke.

“an apocalyptic scene: sin is affirmed by law.”

On target. The issue is no longer an ethic of broad tolerance in the public square. The state is increasingly actively preferring sin, and requiring believers to actively aid and abet sin.

That old country song needs more airplay in Europe: “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.”

The number of people there who believe in fairies is rising.

When are the Russians going to admit their historic guilt in all this? When are they going to get down on their knees and beg forgiveness from G-d and from their victims?

Hmm. Wonder what the leftist "African-American" churches will make of all these "uncle toms" invading the country to re-institute all that "oppressive" morality the white man invented to oppress people of color?[/sarcasm]

He supports traditional Russian values

Maybe every culture should forget about objective religious truth and just adhere to its "traditional values."[/sarcasm]

The Eastern Orthodox churches are ethnic entities that don't take anything seriously. Why else would they participate in the ultra-left wing ecumenical movement?

Eastern Orthodox (and other ethnic) chrstians refuse to participate in the culture war in the United States. They pal around with depraved atheist liberal politicians. And they hate the rural Fundamentalist American people as much as any scientific atheist.

Actually from a local college professor (those weren't his exact words).
