I married into a Catholic family and recently went through classes to convert. The classes were mostly taught by a man of Irish extraction and an Italian lady. There were three black couples taking classes, several of Italian heritage (this church is in a pretty heavily Italian area) two Hispanic couples and the rest white except one man had his wife to be taking classes, and she was from Thailand originally.

I can’t see that it gave much of an appearance of racism. The lady dancing in church when Teddy died wasn’t a racist, and I am sure there were plenty in church and outside who sympathized with her, but that is in pretty poor taste and would never happen in any church I’ve ever been in. Of course I started out in a Baptist church, so she definitely wouldn’t have danced.

There are good people ALL OVER THE WORLD.
My brother-in-law was brought up Baptist and my oldest friend was brought up Baptist but changed to Presbyterian because the home she and her husband bought was outside of a town with NO Baptist churches anywhere near. The church was Presbyterian.

I once asked her what the theological differences between Baptists and Presbyterians were and she had no clue. No one here seems to know either. It SEEMS as if the differences lie in the "fluff" issues, NOT in anything theological.

Well, aside from papal authority.

I've NEVER seen dancing in a Catholic Church and I've been going to Mass, now daily Mass, for too many decades to put here. Lawks! I can't beLIEVE how old I am.

FReegards!
