Hi all-
I wanted to thank everyone profusely for your prayers and well wishes, and give everyone an update.
My dad passed away about a week and a half ago. He never recovered consciousness from the subsequent stroke(s) he suffered after the initial stroke. He was kept comfortable from the time he was removed from the ICU, and received morally acceptable care until he passed.
This has been a most difficult process (I keep using the words “difficult” and “process”), but we’re getting through it as family. We keep in the forefront of our thoughts the love of God, and mindfulness that my dad is now in communion with God, and is reunited with his Mom, Dad, and sister up in heaven.

My dear FReeper, please accept my sincere condolences. I have been through this difficult time. Please know that you are not alone...although we did not know your father personally, I can assure you that we sincerely appreciate his time here....and your loss.
Sending my prayers for comfort and healing as you mourn this loss. Losing your Dad is difficult and you can use that word over and over, whatever you need to say is what you should say to help you at this time.
As I’m certain others have expressed, I too will say to try with all your might to hold on to the wonderful memories of your Dad and all you shared. Knowing he is with his loved ones as well as our Savior, eases the pain a bit for those who miss him. I truly as sorry for your loss. We are here for you.
