Hi all-
I wanted to thank everyone profusely for your prayers and well wishes, and give everyone an update.
My dad passed away about a week and a half ago. He never recovered consciousness from the subsequent stroke(s) he suffered after the initial stroke. He was kept comfortable from the time he was removed from the ICU, and received morally acceptable care until he passed.
This has been a most difficult process (I keep using the words “difficult” and “process”), but we’re getting through it as family. We keep in the forefront of our thoughts the love of God, and mindfulness that my dad is now in communion with God, and is reunited with his Mom, Dad, and sister up in heaven.

My heart broke as I read this. I am so sorry that you all are experiencing the pain of death and the sorrow of loss. That is the tragedy of this life; that we lose the ones we love for a time. I rejoice with the testimony you have given of your father, that he recognized Christ as his Savior and is now in His presence. May that knowledge comfort you all as you reflect on the gifts you received from the life of your dad. May God bless you during this time.

I know there are many people with you giving you hugs and comfort. Please also know that your Christian family on this board cares, too. How good it is to be a Christian and to know that when we are in Christ, our lives never end. The flesh may fail, but we continue. Prayers are with you.
Imperative that you reject all negativity. Been there, done that.
Wish I could make that easy. But it takes time and, please God, not too much of it. It was years before I could look in a hardware store window without thinking about buying Dad a tool for Christmas . . .
