If the great St.Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower, maybe the greatest modern saint, can have a crisis of faith, as she did her last 18 months, why can’t the Pope? A crisis of faith doesn’t necessarily mean a doubt. When God puts the great saints through the dark night of the soul, if they aren’t having a crisis of faith, aren’t they pretty close to it? Jesus said, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me”, upon the Cross, but the Pope can’t be honest and say he at times struggles with faith?

What he actually said was that he did not like the term genocide because Christians were being killed not for their ethnicity but for their faith in God.

As such, the appropriate term should be martyr in witness to Christ, not the generic, secular term genocide which did not accurately describe and which diminished their sacrifice

Your pope is trying to sugar coat it...Almost make it sound like these people are voluntarily becoming martyrs and looking forward to it...

The children and babies that they are murdering aren't martyrs...They are being murdered because their parents are Christians....No one is asking these people if they want to live for Mohammed or die for Jesus...It's just a wholesale slaughter because they are known as Christians...Genocide...

Born again is NOT actions of faith directed toward God...Born again is a spiritual operation...From God...NOT to God...

If they're baptized, and being killed because their killers know their parents are Christians, they're martyrs beyond question.

For a Pope to call them "martyrs," rather than "genocide victims," is significant. Martyrs go straight to heaven. Genocide victims, not necessarily.

St. Therese was never the Vicar of Christ. Any pope who admits he still has many occasions of crisis in the Faith should resign his office.

The problem is that Francis doesn't acknowledge the Catholic Church's definition of "martyr".
