16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17 where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18 A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles,[b] they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.” 21 Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

22 The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone. 23 Then some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. 24 Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus.

Dear Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship,
For You Alone Are The One True God.
Thank You For Your Word
Which Gives Insights into human nature,
And how, sometimes even with thousands of years of civilization,
Some things never change!

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.


We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

We read of Jesus walking on water when we studied the character of the Apostle Peter. Now, as John tells the story of this incident, he doesn't even mention Peter at all. Having been stuck in a squall on a 13 foot sailboat myself, I understand the reason John would not really care what PETER was doing at the time. John's eyes were on Jesus! So, although the narratives are a bit different, I don't see any conflict here.

(For the record, my Daddy came out in a little motor boat and helped me guide the "Sunfish" back to the dock. And I am glad he did. As he approached me, he yelled, "Lower the sail, and let me tow you in." I had to "Let Go" of my attempt to control the boat. Interesting!)
