“I am intimidated by the display, and I am a practicing Christian,” the unnamed airman wrote. “This open Bible is discrimination at the highest level.”
The airman went on to say that he wasn’t just offended by the Bible – he was “outrageously offended.”

You say you are a practicing Christian, and yet you are outrageously offended by the Bible? Psalm 119:165 declares you to be a liar:

Great peace have they that love Thy Law; and nothing shall offend them.

Beyond that this ‘christian’ is stupid.

Having an open bible is not discrimination.

I have a career as an active duty Army Chaplain, and I can tell you with certainty that our religious rights are not forfeited when we enter the military.

The only real issue concerning religion has to do with ongoing combat operations. At that time, a commander can order you on a mission even if you’d rather go see the chaplain for a time of prayer.

In combat, mission overrides everything else.

As it should. There’s a time for every purpose under heaven.
