Christians of All Denominations Join to Answer the Pope's Call for the Care of Creation

"Believers and non-believers agree that the Earth is our common heritag, the fruits of which should benefit everyone. However, what is happening in the world we live in?”

Pope Francis has been a strong advocate for environmental protection since the start of his pontificate. In 2015, with the publication of the encyclical Laudato si', it became clear that the care of what he calls "the Common Home” is one of his top priorities.

POPE FRANCIS
June 17, 2015

"I ask you to be responsible with the mission God entrusted to mankind with Creation. To cultivate it and care for the garden in which He has placed us.”

That is why he established September 1 as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, joining in this way the Orthodox Church, who did exactly the same in 1989.

To help Pope Francis in his efforts, the World Council of Churches has launched an ecumenical campaign: "Season of Creation”, that will run until October 4, the feast of Saint Francis, patron saint of Ecology.

Our Sunday sermon today was “Jesus at Creation”.

Final summary was: If you don’t believe Creation, you can’t believe anything else God says.

Pastor started simple, Gen 1:3 (Hey, after 40 years I should be beyond Gen 1:3). Seriously, God is Good!

Then actually got really deep, challenged me.

The bible says that in the end the earth will be destroyed. Maybe the pope should get back to teaching Christianity and saving souls instead of being a tool for the NWO.

Please excuse my abruptness but you do not have the theological knowledge to understand that the Pope is the best voice in this world for teaching Christianity and saving souls. The Catholic Church is growing faster than the population rate. He is no tool to anyone, he works very well for God.

Francis: "What is the opportunity? That of solidarity. Come, help me. For everyone to contribute to the common good and to build a society that puts the human person at the center."

And the new Ecumenical Religion marches on.....a religion with man at the center, not God.

This man is not Catholic. He is an apostate. He is not a true pope. Anyone with eyes can see this is fact.

but you do not have the theological knowledge to understand that the Pope is the best voice in this world for teaching Christianity and saving souls.

A couple of points.

I was unaware the RCC was evangelical...Never has a Catholic tried to get me to believe on Jesus as my Savior. Several have tried to get me to join the RCC..

Maybe, I'm misunderstanding your comment but the Pope has nothing to do with saving souls...

His job is leading the Church in morals and doctrine.

Nor does any other preacher, teacher, layman, nun, apparition, icon or relic...

Your belief in the blood of Christ redeeming you by dying on a cross for your sins saves you...nothing more , nothing less...

I wouldn’t brag about that too much.

This so-called pope was bribed by the Obama regime to push the man made climate change hoax. This act makes him a prostitute or a Judas (or both).

You obviously do not understand Catholic doctrine, which is based upon centuries of bible study and revelation by some of the great minds in history.

Yes, the Catholic church directed by this Pope is being much more evangelical, that is why it is growing.

I was responding to what another poster had said...I noticed his post is gone now. The Pope does much more than leading the Church in morals and doctrine. And his tasks do include bringing people to Christ, and showing all Christians and non-Christians by example the loving gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why he shows love towards all people.

Like the other person who wrote despairingly about this Pope and about Catholicism, it is clear you do not have the theological knowledge to truly debate what Catholics believe or don’t believe. I am sorry for being direct in that but perhaps you could study what Catholics actually believe and why...we have been studying it much longer than any other Christian group.

Yes, we can all see how intelligent and knowledgeable you are... I am not even going to debate such a mind.

Of course the Earth will die. When SOL dies the solar system dies. And eventually, all will be reborn.

I have studied what the RCC actually believe and why...no way I am an expert and don't claim to be one.

I do know scripture extremely well and have studied it for more than 30 years...under some extraordinary teachers...

What I reject from RCC teaching is all the extra biblical teaching some cling to, I consider it wood, hay and stubble, to be burned away on the day of HIS coming......

The RCC is one of the great institution on the planet...and I have respected the Popes...the current one is quite different...probably that Jesuit liberation theology background that raises my eyebrows......

Do you consider Protestants Christians?

I've been told many times as a person who is disabled with "invincible ignorance", I am going to hell...

I wonder if the World Council of Churches will have anything to do with the world wide super church of the book of Revelation?

Thanks, In Christ alone I find my salvation...

I just find it disturbing that some RCC Christians have the temerity to make a claim on the condition of my soul based on whether or not I believe or trust in other thing else besides Christ...

Bergoglio says JUST ENOUGH about real evils (abortion, sodomy, gender theory, ISIS) to enable Pollyannas to maintain their fantasies, but his ENERGY goes into the priorities of his boss, Soros.
